If Hope Dies: The Ground is Quickly Rushing Up to Meet Us (draft, young idea rapidly growing dendritic connections)

“Prosterity doesn’t vote, and doesn’t exert much influence in the marketplace. So the living go on stealing from their descendants.”

“The more “modern” a nation had become, the more it’s a way of life was based on importing energy from hundreds of millions of years ago.”

Germinated idea seeds: citations needed podcast episode 73. Use of language measuring tool to gauge neo-communist hysteria. Corrupt Africa in the red on Corruption Perception Index (CPI). 16–18minutes. Consider “how the right lost its mind” and “In Trump we trust”

Deceptive language in regards to fossil fuel extraction, referred as “production“, or discovering new wells, as “development“ supported our secular desires to evolve beyond limitations to primary reality. William Catton Jr. makes a great comparison to fish stores in the ocean that are actively replacing or regenerating at a ratio much higher than we are extracting fossil fuels, our ancient photosynthesis derivatives. By 1970 the extraction of fossil fuel’s was around 10,000 to 1 when calculating the rate of the bio-geo-chemical processes that replaced them. The use of the word production in the fossil fuel industry is a ‘Jedi sleight of hand’ use of language that invites eager humans hungry for the infinite to confirm the sale of their soul belief that an end to fossil fuel discovery will never quickly rush up to meet the ground bound trajectory of our faces. (If hope does, the ground is quickly rushing up to meet us) The liveliness of fish protein replacement is much more culturally enlivening when considering the inner and outer healing work needed to re-integrate ourselves with this dynamic thermodynamic bio-geo-chemically entangled planetary vital sign.

We have been lost in the seemingly magic abilities of new technological innovations that, in the past 200 years, have clouded our understanding of our evolved baseline conception of reality. Alfred Crosby calls this the “venerable” worldview

So many problems have been solved by technology that we’ve begun to take as faith, the unsupported belief that we will always innovate out of our problems. With little discussion in main stream dialogue of how we innovate new problems for ourselves, people have no burden of reckoning with the limits of the biosphere to begin to repent, grieve our hubris, and begin the inner and outer fractal healing work o flesh earth or regeneration in service to Gaia.

Crosby uses the term “the venerable model” to describe the ancient cyclical time tested view of reality that preceded the evolving view of reality that is the focus of his book. “The venerable model provided structures and processes that a person could live with emotionally as well as comprehend intellectually — for instance, a time and a space of human dimensions.” The atmosphere or the sky was seen to revolve around the earth, geo-centrism. Scholars of the time would use days spent walking to describe distances to the moon or stars. Interestingly, days or minutes spent walking determined the more venerably influenced design of cities that respected human social, spiritual, and physical metabolic limitations of primary reality.
